7 Habits in the Media Center

Be Proactive!

Cougar Cubs come to the Media Center prepared with your books and library folder. Cougar Cubs use shelf markers to keep the books in order, keep our areat neat, properly log out of the computer when we are done, and put our chairs back.

Begin With the End in Mind!

Cougar Cubs have a purpose for coming to the library. We focus on finding books we like within our reading range and on achieving our Accelerated Reader goals.

Put First Things First!

Cougar Cubs listen and follow directions so that we may be successful. We use our time wisely to check out books, take tests, and properly complete our assignments.

Think Win-Win!

Cougar Cubs balance courage for getting what we want with consideration for what others want. We make desposits into each others emotional bank accounts. When conflicts arise we look for third alternatives.

Seek First to Understand Then to be Understood!

Cougar Cubs listen to other people's ideas and feelings. We try to see things from their viewpoints. We listen to others without interrupting. We are confindent in voicing our ideas and look people in the eyes when we are speaking to them.

Cougar Cubs value each other's strenths and learn from each other. We get along well with each other even though we may be different. We work well in groups. We know that by teaming with others we can create better solutions than anyone of us can alone. We are humble.

Sharpen the Saw!

Cougar Cubs read different kinds of books: Fiction, Nonfiction, and chapter books to nourish our mind with all the wonderful knowledge found between the pages. We feed our soul by finding trouths about ourselves in the stores we read. We find meaningful ways to help each other.
